Capstone research project
Chicken in your pocket! Hatching eggs and raising chickens digitally to collect virtual eggs which can be exchanged with real-world eggs or donate them to charity. The idea of virtual chicken was conceptualized from nostalgic childhood memory of backyard chicken rearing. It eventually evolved into a mobile game with tangible real life accomplishment.
Although the actual mobile game was not developed in this project, main elements which characterized the game were featured in its website.
- Marketing plan
- Sitemap & wireframes
- Style tiles
- Logo design & development
- Custom illustrations & animation
- Design mockup
- Final build
This independent project started with a marketing plan which included defined personas, SWOT analysis and 3Cs & 4Ps of marketing framework.VIEW MARKETING PLAN
SITEMAP & WIREFRAMES
Sitemap was first drafted by hand sketches and sticky notes, followed by a more refined digital conceptual model and wireframes.
Different style guides were explored from rich contemporary to a softer and more emotionally-driven look to capture the main essence of the game.
Multiple versions of the finalized logo styles were presented in guides based on the earlier developed style tiles, included logos in greyscale.
CUSTOM ILLUSTRATIONS & ANIMATION
Illustrations, GIF and animated explainer video were customized to create a cohesive look throughout. Stayed away from the cute cartoonish style to better reflect the target audience.
PS: Please lower your device's volume to avoid hearing loud chicken clucking in this animation.
Shown here two of the many versions of the design mockups created in Sketch. Well, you get the idea.
Started with what some thought as a laughable chicken idea, I must say this project eventually blossomed into something that might actually work in real life with some tweaks. Great fun in creating custom illustrations and animation as well as building the entire site. I personally like the simplicity and subtle interactive elements of this site. More than happy to hear any feedback.VISIT SITE
